The Story of Flap-tite tabs

We’ve heard stories of inventions that were created in someone’s garage. With Flap-tite tabs, it so happened because that is precisely where the problem was!

As with many people, my garage was full of boxes of holiday decorations, toys, clothing, and camping equipment. It bothered me that most of the otherwise perfect corrugated boxes I acquired for storage had no practical means for re-closing and re-opening. With time and use, all the flaps became torn and dog-eared from tape, string, elastic cords, interlocking, etc. For years I wondered about better ways to reclose them.

I experimented with methods to solve the problem simply because I needed closure. (PLEASE excuse the pun.) Eventually I discovered the perfect combination of ease and convenience for boxes -- and it was great for most other kinds of containers as well! It was so unique and fun to use, I applied for a patent and Flap-tite tabs were born!
